The Goal
The goal was to explore how modern UI patterns could be applied to a complex product while maintaining clarity and usability.
My Role
What my part in this Project was
I independently worked on this project as a UX/UI Designer, exploring visual design, layout structure, and interaction patterns. The focus was on UI exploration rather than implementation, allowing freedom to rethink the interface while respecting the core functionality of the existing SBB app.

Context
What is SBB
The SBB app is used daily by thousands of people to plan journeys, view connections, and manage tickets. While highly functional, the interface is dense and visually utilitarian. This exploration looks at how the experience could feel more modern, approachable, and visually engaging without compromising usability.
Design Exploration
Key points
Softer surfaces and layered cards to reduce visual overload
Clear separation between planning, connections, and tickets
Improved hierarchy through color, spacing, and elevation
A more immersive and modern visual language while keeping familiar navigation patterns
The redesign keeps the core structure of the original app to ensure recognizability, while enhancing the overall look and feel.

Outcome
My Learnings
This exploration demonstrates how visual design trends can be thoughtfully applied to real-world products with complex requirements.
Shows how modern UI styles can coexist with usability
Highlights the importance of hierarchy in data-dense interfaces
Explores visual differentiation without altering core user flows
The project reflects my ability to balance creative exploration with functional constraints in a product design context.
